Hartley Oscillator Question & Answers

July 2, 2022 By WatElectronics

This article lists 50 Hartley Oscillator MCQs for Engineering Students. The Hartley Oscillator Questions & Answers below include solutions and links to the relevant topic. This is helpful for users who are preparing for their exams and interviews, or professionals who would like to brush up on the fundamentals of the Hartley Oscillator.

The Hartley oscillator is considered one of the LC oscillators. In an LC circuit, a parallel combination of capacitor and inductor is used as a feedback circuit. When we use an op-amp in inverting configuration, an op-amp introduces a phase shift of 180 degrees between input and output signals.

The LC oscillators provide a wide range of frequencies and they are easy to tune. The advantage of a hartley oscillator is; that the frequency of this may be adjusted with a single variable capacitor. The o/p amplitude will stay constant over the range of frequency. It requires either two fixed or a tapped coil inductor and a few other components are required.

The main disadvantage is it provides poor frequency stability because of the effect of temperature, the impact of humidity, and the effect changes in the parameters of the component value of an inductor and capacitor.

There are various applications of Hartley oscillator using op-amp and the applications are it is used as local oscillators in tv receivers or radio receivers, and it is used in the function generators for providing various waveforms of any desired frequency and it can be used in the RF source.
