This article lists 100 Voltmeter MCQs for Engineering Students. The Voltmeter Questions & Answers below include solutions and links to the relevant topic. This is helpful for users who are preparing for their exams and interviews, or professionals who would like to brush up on the fundamentals of the Voltmeter.

The PMMC instrument, electrodynamic, moving iron measures current directly. If we apply a current across the coils of these meters, the pointer is deflected and the electrostatic instrument measures voltage. So, particularly the electrostatic instruments cannot be used for a direct current measurement directly because it is made up of a set of two parallel plates.

The voltmeter is to be connected in parallel in the circuit and the voltmeter potential difference is measured in volts. The symbolic representation of the voltmeter is V, and the effective resistance of the voltmeter is high compared to the ammeter.

The ramp type, integrating DVM, continuous balance DVM, and successive approximation are the types of digital voltmeters. The digital voltmeters can measure digitally instead of analog readings and they can measure dc or ac currents and voltages.

There are two types of voltmeters are there like analog and digital voltmeters. The digital voltmeters can be programmed but the analog voltmeters are cannot be programmed. The number of measurement ranges is more, and the speed of operation is more in digital voltmeters when compared to analog voltmeters.
