This article lists 75 Multimeter MCQs for Engineering Students. All the Multimeter Questions & Answers given below include solutions and links to the relevant topic. This is helpful for users who are preparing for their exams and interviews, or professionals who would like to brush up on the fundamentals of the Multimeter.

Multimeters are essential tools for testing electronic circuits and components, whether it's checking a battery, extension cord, or troubleshooting an appliance, multimeters can help to determine exactly what has failed.

The flow of electrons through a wire is somewhat similar to the flow of water inside of a pipe. The voltage or potential difference is the pressure from the power source that pushes the electrons through the wires. The current or amperage is the flow of electrons within a circuit.

To set up the multimeters, plug the meter leads into the terminals, usually, they are color-coded red for the positive terminal and black for the negative terminal. Some meters will have two positive terminals one terminal is for voltage and resistance and another one is for measuring amperage.

Some multimeters are auto-ranging and will automatically adjust the units displayed. In other models, you will have to set the multimeter to the most accurate range. The main advantages of digital multimeters are they are available in smaller sizes, portable, have high input impedance, and have higher accuracy.
