Image Sensing and Acquisition Question & Answers

October 28, 2022 By WatElectronics

This article lists 50 Image Sensing and Acquisition MCQs for engineering students. All the Image Sensing and Acquisition Questions & Answers given below include a hint and a link wherever possible to the relevant topic. This is helpful for users who are preparing for their exams, interviews, or professionals who would like to brush up on the fundamentals of Image Sensing and Acquisition.

The image acquisition can be done by using line sensor strips, sensor arrays, etc in spatial and frequency domains. The line sensor, array sensor, and single imaging sensor are the three types of principal sensor arrangements.

The point and mask operations are comes under spatial domain transformations. The nearest neighbor interpolation, pixel replication, and bilinear interpolation are the methods of zooming digital images. The row-column deletion and reverse nearest neighbor interpolation are the methods of shrinking digital images.

A high degree of accuracy can be obtained when image acquisition uses a single sensor. The image is projected onto the sensor array, the sensor array captures the image, and the captured image is then sampled and quantized. This is the simple image formation model.

The spatial, and Gray level resolution determines the size of an image. The sampling of an image causes a checkboard pattern in the resulting image and the quantization of an image causes false contouring in the resulting image. The spatial resolution is determined solely by the sensor density when the image acquisition uses a sensor array.
