Phase controlled rectifier is one type of rectifier circuit. Based on input supply it is divided into two types such as single-phase and three-phase rectifiers. Single phase structured rectifiers are assorted into two categories: Half wave and Full wave controlled rectifiers.

Half wave controlled rectifiers which is an isolated thyristor device/tool that produces a moderate cycle of inserted AC supply and lowers DC turnout. Full wave-structured rectifiers produce high DC output and have center-tapped transformers with two thyristors. Bridge rectifiers don't require transformers.

Three-phase structured rectifiers work with three phase input AC supply. Semi converter has only a single version of output voltage and electric current. The full converter has one polarity of +positive or -negative output voltage and one polarity of current with either +positive or -negative.

A dual converter has both polarities of output current and output voltage with two signs. Phase-controlled rectifiers are used in Magnetic power supplies, high voltage DC, motor drives, and battery charges. Thyristors and diodes are used in different phases.
