In amplitude modulation, the amplitude of the carrier signal changes with respect to modulating signal. The bandwidth of the amplitude modulation signal is two times the frequency of modulating signal. The double sideband suppressed carrier, single sideband suppressed carrier, VSB, and conventional amplitude modulation are the types of amplitude modulation.
