This article lists 100 Network Topology MCQs for Engineering Students. All the Network Topology Questions & Answers given below includes solution and link wherever possible to the relevant topic.

Network topology can be defined as the arrangement of a network that includes nodes & connecting lines through sender & receiver. It is of two types they are physical topology and logical topology. The physical topology describes the way computers connect with the help of cables whereas the logical topology describes the way the data flow from one computer to another within a computer network.

The local area network has three main topologies they are the star, bus, ring, and other topologies are hybrid and mesh topologies. In star topology, all the computers connect with the help of a hub, whereas in point-to-point topology the network consists direct link between two computers and the benefits of P2P topology are they are highly reliable, faster, and don't need an expensive server.

The bus topology uses a single cable that connects all the including nodes, whereas the hybrid topology combines two or more than two topologies. The advantages of hybrid topology are they are scalable, have flexible networking topology, highly efficient and the disadvantages of hybrid topology are the designing is complex, and the process is costliest.

The logical topology describes the way the data flow from one computer to another within a computer network. The advantages of tree topology are they are easy to maintain and manage, and the node expansion is easy and fast. The ethernet LANs and the high-speed LANs are examples of bus and star topologies.
