This article lists 100 Single-Stage Transistor Amplifier MCQs for Engineering Students. All the Single-Stage Transistor Amplifier Questions & Answers given below includes solution and link wherever possible to the relevant topic.

In a single-stage transistor amplifier, the circuit has only one transistor with associated circuitry. The biasing circuit, input capacitor, emitter bypass capacitor, and coupling capacitor are the circuit elements. The single-stage amplifiers are the most convenient and least expensive amplifiers, and it provides high audio fidelity and low-frequency distortion.

The tuned voltage amplifiers are categorized into two types they are single tuned voltage amplifier and double tuned voltage amplifier. The tuned amplifiers have high selectivity, low power loss, and very small harmonic distortion and they are used in IF, RF amplifiers, radar, television, etc.

The doubled-tuned amplifier uses two inductively coupled circuits. The single tuned amplifiers are classified into two types they are capacitively coupled and transformer-coupled. The transformer-coupled amplifiers are costly, bulky, have high-frequency distortion, are efficient in operation, gain achieved is higher, and there will be no power loss in base and collector resistors.

The RC coupled transformer coupled, and direct-coupled amplifiers are the type of amplifiers based on the coupling method whereas the class A, B, C, and class AB amplifiers are the type of amplifiers based on the biasing condition. The disadvantages of RC coupled amplifiers are the power transformer, voltage & power gain are low, and they become noisy with age the advantages of the RC coupled amplifiers are they are cheap and compact.
