In microwave, the term micro means small with a wavelength ranging from one meter to one millimeter (1m to 1mm). The corresponding frequency ranges from 300MHz to 300GHz. The tunnel diode, Gunn diode, varactor diode, etc are types of microwave semiconductor devices.

The microwave frequencies can be categorized into three bands they are ultra-high frequency ranges from 0.3GHz to 3GHz, super high frequency ranges from 3GHz to 30GHZ, and the third band is extra high frequency ranges from 30GHz to 300GHz.

The bandwidth in the traveling microwave tube is between fifteen to sixty percent, and the bandwidth in the klystron microwave tube is between one to eight percent. The klystron microwave tubes have a long life, low interpulse noise, and wide bandwidth compared to traveling wave tubes.

The magnetron and CFA are the two types of cross-field devices. Compact microwaves, mid-size microwaves, full-size microwaves are the different types of microwaves. The advantages of microwave devices are no need for cables, multiple channels available, and has a wide bandwidth.
